Deaver's The Bodies Left Behind is just as thrilling and full of plot twists as his other novels, and I loved it! I couldn't put the book down and it took me just two days to read it.
The Bodies Left Behind is about a woman detective named Brynn who stumbles upon a murdered couple in a house on the lake in the middle of nowhere. Realizing the murderers are nearby and Brynn has no backup, she starts to leave, when suddenly she comes to face to face with a third woman who has witnessed everything...and the murderers are fast on their trail. They escape into the surrounding wilderness to survive.
I thought that the setting of The Bodies Left Behind taking place in the wilderness might get boring after awhile, but this is not at all the case. As always, the author weaves so many red herrings and possibilities into the plot, making for a fun, mystery-solving experience! I wish I could talk more about it, but that would reveal spoilers!
Excellent book and great stand-alone without being part of a series. I recommend this book to all mystery and suspense fans.
