Twenties Girl is about a woman named Lara who attends the funeral of a distant family member and becomes haunted by her ghost, Sadie. The ghost convinces Lara to embark on a search for a long-lost necklace once belonging to Sadie; or else she will continue to haunt Lara for life!
Twenties Girl is incredibly magical and engaging, and has a hilarious laugh-out-loud quality. We become enraptured with the character of love-interest Ed after ballsy Sadie convinces Lara to ask him on a date!
On a personal note, I did enjoy reading about Lara's experiences as a headhunter. Having been on the constant lookout for jobs in the past, it was refreshing and uplifting to gain more insight into their jobs.
Readers will also find themselves unprepared for twists in the story surrounding Sadie's past.
Twenties Girl is a fun ride all the way through, and I highly recommend it. Kinsella's Shopaholic series is also just as enjoyable, if not more. Start out with Confessions of a Shopaholic (which was also made into a movie) and continue with Shopaholic Takes Manhattan, before moving on to Shopaholic Ties the Knot.
