Wicked Appetite is a new series by Janet Evanovich featuring Diesel -- a charming recurring character in the "Between the Numbers" editions of the infamous Stephanie Plum series.
Wicked Appetite is set in Salem, Massachusetts and features heroine Elizabeth "Lizzy" Tucker. Lizzy is a baker with a knack for making perfect cupcakes and is also descended from a line of witches. When sexy, bad-boy Diesel enters her life, Lizzy learns that she possesses a unique power to find "empowered objects" that Diesel needs in order to prevent his even more darker and dangerous cousin Wulf from ruling the world. Thus, hilarity and mishaps begin to follow Lizzy, Diesel, and her crazy friends throughout their adventure to locate the mystical objects.
Readers and fans already familiar with the Stephanie Plum series will love Wicked Appetite! The book is actually very parallel to the Plum series to a tee so much they could be mirror images. Lizzy has just about the same carefree, accepting and girl-next-door spirit that Stephanie has, not to mention the kooky companions and crazy pets and animals. Lizzy also has two new dark, mysterious, and sexy men in her life that I have an odd feeling she'll have to balance in future novels.
Wicked Appetite has numerous laugh-out-loud moments and is simply too funny and quirky not to enjoy. Like all novels by Janet Evanovich, Wicked Appetite is the perfect escape and a fast, enjoyable read.
Diesel is also featured in "Between the Numbers" novels Plum Lovin' (2007), Plum Lucky (2008) and Plum Spooky (2009).
