Special Agents Surrender

Special Agent’s Surrender is the 4th book in the Lawmen of Black Rock series by Carla Cassidy. But it reads fine as a standalone novel, you don’t necessarily need to read the other ones first.

In Special Agent’s Surrender, on a cold, snowy winter evening, Layla West is attacked by a man hiding in the back seat of her car. When cute and sexy Layla escapes with barely a scratch, she is exiled to a remote cabin deep in the woods until her stalker can be caught and prosecuted.

Layla’s fear soon turns to excitement when she learns she’ll be occupying the cabin with the sexy Jacob Grayson—a former FBI agent who can keep her safe from harm. After spending several days and nights cooped up with one another, Layla and Jacob can’t deny their love for each other, even in the face of danger.

In the author’s “Dear Reader” intro at the beginning of this book, Jacob is described as a “tortured hero.” The chemistry between Layla and Jacob is cute and fun, and the flirting is actually more intense than the sex scenes.

Special Agent’s Surrender is relatively short and there are only a handful of characters, so the mystery portion is easy to solve. But overall, this book is fun, sexy, and enjoyable.

I also read and reviewed Enigma (Maximum Men) by Carla Cassidy.

Carla Cassidy has a LOT of fun-looking romance series out, including the Scarecrow Murders series, Kings of Coyote Creek series, and Cowboys of Holiday Ranch series.
