I’m So Happy For You is the 3rd book by Lucinda Rosenfeld.
Wendy and Daphne are in their mid-30s and have been best friends for years. Wendy has a fulfilling career, a happy marriage, and is trying to have a baby. Daphne is reckless and dramatic, and experiences lots of mishaps.
One day, it’s made obvious that Daphne just may have the perfect lifestyle. She has a rich, handsome husband, a new home, AND a new baby on the way! Wendy is consumed with jealously, and she obsessively tries to one-up Daphne by making her life better and more special.
I thought I had this book figured out after reading its synopsis. I expected lots of silly cat fights and embarrassing moments shared between the women, complete with a perfectly happy ending where the friends hug and make up. But that doesn’t happen in this novel, and that’s exactly why I loved it.
The grass is always greener on the other side, and lots of people want what they don’t have, until they finally have it. Then they want something else.
I’m So Happy For You is wildly relatable, especially if you’ve ever been a victim of female jealousy in this context. I guess some women are just insecure in that way.
Other books by Lucinda Rosenfeld include:

- The Pretty One (2013)
