Clare’s ex-husband Matteo Allegro is days away from marrying the beautiful and successful Breanne Summour, when suddenly, everyone around her starts dying.
Out of concern for Matteo, and for the sake of their daughter, Clare starts poking around and conducts an amateur investigation to figure out why people close to Breanne keep dying. She starts to think maybe Breanne isn’t a great match for Matt after all. The closer she gets to uncovering the murderer’s identity, the closer she gets to meeting the Grim Reaper herself.
This Coffeehouse series is fun. I think what I love most about them is reading about the coffee, espresso, and other recipes featured inside. The constant back-and-forth relationship stuff between Clare and Matteo has gotten old. I kept wondering whether Matteo would follow through with marrying Breanne at the end, or if he would throw in the towel and keeping pining for Clare, like always.
