The Honky Tonk bar resides in Mingus, Texas. When city-bred Hank Wells literally crashes his truck into sassy bar owner and country gal Larissa Morley, it’s practically love at first sight.
But before she can focus on love, Larissa must prevent the Honky Tonk from being sold and turned into a grotesque amusement park. When she learns that Hank is involved in the business deal, she needs to figure out whether she loves him enough to let it all go.
Carolyn Brown‘s female protagonists are saucy, witty, and dynamic, which makes for super fun reading. There’s a bit of exaggerated melodrama in this one, but that’s pretty much all contemporary romance novels, right?
Of course, this novel has a happily-ever-after ending, and it’s a fun ride all the way there.
