Do you enjoy watching the Hallmark and Lifetime channels? Do cowboys turn you on? Do you like country? If you answered yes to all those questions, then you will LOVE Honky Tonk Christmas!

Honky Tonk Christmas

Okay, I’m being silly. Carolyn Brown’s Honky Tonk Christmas is incredibly fun, enjoyable and romantic.

Honky Tonk Christmas is book #4 in the Honky Tonk Bar series. Each novel in this series is about a woman who inherits the Honky Tonk Bar, which happens to come with a “love curse.” All the women have a troubled and dramatic past, but eventually love comes to the rescue in the form of a hunky, strapping man and they all live happily ever after.

Honky Tonk Christmas does not actually occur during Christmas time, so it’s not exactly a holiday book per se.

In this story, Sharlene Waverly is the newest gal to run the bar and hires sexy carpenter Holt Jackson to expand and renovate the bar before the holidays. Of course, Sharlene falls head over heels for Holt and his two adorable children.

Of course, not everything in the land of cowboy love is perfect right away because Holt and Sharlene have to battle the code of professionalism and their own emotional issues before they can truly be together.

I really enjoy how the chemistry builds up between Sharlene and Holt. Their relationship is mature and develops slowly into something marvelous throughout the novel. If you didn’t read the other Honky Tonk books in the series, the author provides a brief summary of each.

I’ve read and reviewed a few other books by Carolyn Brown including Hell, Yeah and My Give a Damn’s Busted.
