Sizzling Sixteen is (obviously) the 16th book in the silly Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich
. It’s okay to read this one even if you haven’t read the others, because the author always provides a thorough summary about the characters and series in the first chapter.
In this one, Stephanie Plum goes on the ultimate manhunt to find Vinnie, her boss at the bail bonds office who’s gone missing. Lula and Connie join her on this mission.
As the trio go searching for Vinnie, they encounter lots of random mishaps and adventures along the way. And of course, the story features lots of fried chicken and more racy chemistry among the Stephanie, Ranger, and Joe love triangle.
Sizzling Sixteen is fast-paced and somewhat enjoyable, but it’s not the funniest book in the Stephanie Plum series. The laugh-out-loud moments are few and far between, and there are no tiffs between Stephanie and her arch-nemesis, Joyce Barnhardt, which is usually my favorite part.
All in all, Sizzling Sixteen is okay, but definitely not the best or funniest in the series. Maybe this is around when the author started hiring ghostwriters for these books.
The next books in the Stephanie Plum series are:
- Smokin’ Seventeen (2011)
- Explosive Eighteen (2011)
- Notorious Nineteen (2012)
Did you enjoy Sizzling Sixteen? What do you think about this series?
