This is quite the interesting biography by Tito Ortiz, The Huntington Beach Bad Boy of MMA.
In This is Gonna Hurt, Tito Ortiz talks about his motivation for becoming an MMA fighter, and about what he went through to achieve his dream. He talks like your typical guy next door—he’s got no shame and nothing to hide, which makes him come across as extremely likeable.
Tito proves to readers that despite being known as the ultimate bad boy, his hard work, persistence, and dedication to the sport are what helped him accomplish his goals.
This book, which was released in 2008, is VERY outdated. Honestly, you’d be better off reading his Wikipedia profile.
There’s a chapter in here called “Jenna,” about his relationship with Jenna Jameson, who he was dating at the time. They got together in 2006 and broke up in 2013. In the “Jenna” chapter, Tito discusses how the Marines were rude to her at an event they had invited him to, and how he had to stand up for her and defend her honor. It was all sweet and endearing to read about at the time, but now it’s just sad, especially if you know what Jenna Jameson has been up to in recent years.
Jenna Jameson also released a memoir, called How to Make Love Like a Porn Star by Jenna Jameson, which I mentioned briefly in this post about biographies.
My final advice? Just skip This is Gonna Hurt. It’s too old and outdated.
