I don’t know why I ever bothered reading these celebrity “autobiographies,” because it’s not like the celebrities are actually writing these books. At the time I read this one, I was a big fan of Gorden Ramsay, and I was addicted to watching those staged Kitchen Nightmares shows.
Ramsay’s autobiography, Roasting in Hell’s Kitchen, is a decent read. He’s accomplished quite a lot in his lifetime.
Roasting in Hell’s Kitchen is basically Ramsay’s success story. He was raised in an abusive and alcoholic family, and stumbled into the art of cooking by accident.
Ramsay admits that during the earlier part of his life, he worked as hard as he could to impress his father. He says he worked 20-hour days to learn from the best in the trade and master his craft. I don’t doubt it for a second.
Gordan Ramsay has published several cookbooks, including:
- Gordon Ramsay’s Home Cooking: Everything You Need to Know to Make Fabulous Food (2013)
- Gordon Ramsay’s Healthy, Lean & Fit: Mouthwatering Recipes to Fuel You for Life (2018)
- Gordon Ramsay’s Uncharted: A Culinary Adventure With 60 Recipes From Around the Globe (2023)
