In this one, Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi are once again faced with their fair share of mysteries to solve. First, they must hunt down a safari guide who inherited lots of money from a former American guest who died. A woman also hires them to find out if her husband is cheating, but in all actuality, she’s the one who seems to be cheating.
Also, Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi connect on a more personal, loving level in this book after a terrible event completely devastates Mma Makutsi.
This book is sprinkled with anecdotes about living and leading a good life Botswana-style. There’s something about all these books that make me feel warm, cozy, and grateful about simply being alive. The author paints a really beautiful picture of the Botswana lifestyle and people—beautiful because they take nothing for granted and see the good in all people.
