Explosive Eighteen

Explosive Eighteen is the 18th book in the Stephanie Plum bounty hunter series by Janet Evanovich. I loved this series when it first came out, but now it’s stupid. I won’t read any more of these.

In Explosive Eighteen, Stephanie Plum is finally returning home to New Jersey after vacationing in Hawaii. On the plane, the man sitting next to Stephanie hides a photograph in her luggage that she throws away immediately upon finding it. When Stephanie gets home, she finds herself being chased by henchmen trying to get their hands on the photograph, which Stephanie no longer has in her possession.

Meanwhile, Stephanie’s friends and family are grilling her about the time spent in Hawaii, especially since they know Ranger and Joe Morelli were also there. But Stephanie is keeping mum about Hawaii and about the prominent tan line on her ring finger.

These books are supposed to be pure comedy, but they’re so terrible. Lula’s still obsessed with donuts and fried chicken. Stephanie’s still fighting her lifelong arch-nemesis Joyce Barnhardt.

There’s also the Ranger-Morelli-Stephanie love triangle, which isn’t as entertaining as it once was. Stephanie can have sex with either of them anytime she wants, and can get them to do anything she wants. She also has pregnancy scares all the time.

The Stephanie Plum movie starring Katherine Heigl ruined this series even more. All done!

There are now 31 books in the Stephanie Plum series, can you believe it?! The ghostwriting will never end.

The most recent books in the series are:

I’ve also read and reviewed Wicked Appetite and Sizzling Sixteen by Janey Evanovich.
