Glory in Death is the 2nd book in the In Death series by J.D. Robb, which is a pseudonym for Nora Roberts. There are now 63 books in this series, wow! And Nora Roberts writes them all herself, no ghostwriters.

Police lieutenant Eve Dallas has a new assignment: track down the murderer who killed two very beautiful and successful women. Eve’s case becomes more complex when her boyfriend Roarke makes the list of suspects.

Eve is faithfully devoted to her job, and has no problem investigating Roarke from a professional standpoint. But on a personal level, Eve must work just as hard to keep her emotions in check.

I love Eve’s character. She’s intelligent, great at her job, and just a badass. I also love how these books take place decades in the future, around 2058.

My main gripe with Glory in Death is there are very few characters, and so it’s easy to guess who the killer is. I really enjoyed the first book, Naked in Death, but this one is easily forgettable in comparison.
