In the Manor With the Millionaire

In The Manor With The Millionaire is one of many romance novels by Cassie Miles, a pseudonym for Kay Bergstrom. This novel is part of the Curse of Raven’s Cliff Harlequin Intrigue series.

This book’s title reminds me of the board game Clue.

In this one, a nerdy and beautiful teacher named Madeline Douglas is en route to Beacon Manor with hopes of becoming a private teacher for an autistic kid named Duncan Monroe. When she finally arrives at the mysterious Beacon Manor after battling treacherous, rainy weather, Madeline finds herself flustered when she comes face to face with Blake Monroe—Duncan’s sexy, manly, and irresistible dad.

After watching how nerdy and sexy Madeline connects with his autistic son, Blake hires her on the spot. When Madeline settles in shortly afterward, she realizes Duncan has a special 6th sense that allows him to speak with ghosts from Beacon Manor’s ancient past. Is the Monroe family cursed, or are the spirits simply trying to warn Duncan about impending danger?

In The Manor With The Millionaire is everything you’d expect it to be. It’s fun, cheesy, romantic, and predictable. You can probably see the denouement of this novel coming from a mile away, but you won’t care. You’ll be too busy dreaming about the romantic passion flaring between Blake and Madeline.

Cassie Miles has written lots of other romance series, including the Lighthouse Mysteries series.
