Rocky Mountain Fugitive

I bought a bundle of Harlequin Intrigue novels in bulk a little while ago. I like reading these after finishing something intense, like a horror or thriller. These series are short, cute, light, and funny.

In Rocky Mountain Fugitive, an estranged couple is unexpectedly reunited when their local sheriff frames them for a crime they didn’t commit.

Eric Lander is out rock-climbing with Randy Trask—the town’s troublemaker—when the sheriff and his men arrive and literally shoot down Randy. Eric makes a clean getaway and heads for the ranch owned by Randy’s sister, Sarah.

When he gets there, Sarah is being held hostage by the nasty, evil sheriff. Eric and Sarah finally manage to escape and run for their lives. Their goal is to learn more about the blackmail scheme.

Also, Sarah is about 3 months pregnant with Eric’s child, but they need to work through their issues if they want to be together.

Rocky Mountain Fugitive has lots of action and suspense with its romance. It’s got no lulls, especially if you’re already a fan of this genre.

This book offers a bit of a surprise ending, and was overall a good read. My least favorite part of Rocky Mountain Fugitive was the very last sentence of the book. “He knew every day would be a glorious adventure and love would flow like a virgin waterfall swollen by the melt of spring.” LOL what is that? Okay, I love it.
