Undead and Unwelcome is the 8th book in the Queen Betsy vampire series by MaryJanice Davidson.
This one picks up just moments after the ending of the 7th book, Undead and Unworthy. Betsy and her husband, Eric Sinclair, are off to the Wyndham Werewolf Mansion in Cape Cod. Their job is to deliver the body of Antonia—a werewolf who died under the vampires’ supervision. In addition, Betsy must stand trial before the Council of werewolves to explain how and why Antonia died.
Every book in the Queen Betsy series is short, fast-paced, and ha-ha funny, I suppose. Sometimes these books are funny, and sometimes the humor is lame. This one may be one of the funnier books in the series, mainly because Betsy makes a few silly observations about the werewolves.
I’m not sure how many more of these I’ll be reading. I was around 24 years old when the first book, Undead and Unwed, came out in 2004. I thought its concept was wildly original and hilarious. But I’ve outgrown these now, and they’re just too juvenile.
