Shoe Addicts Anonymous

Shoe Addicts Anonymous is the first book in the Shoe Addict series by Beth Harbison.

This one is about an eclectic group of women who bond over their shared love and passion for designer shoes, while not being able to afford them. While browsing “Gregslist” (the book’s version of Craigslist), each of the women see a post for local “Shoe Addicts Anonymous” meetings. So they start meeting on a regular basis to trade shoes and secrets, and they all become great friends.

Each of the women deals with her own personal dilemma, but get lots of encouragement, help, and support from the other women in the group. One is in lots of debt, one suffers from agoraphobia (what’s the point of buying shoes if you don’t go anywhere?), one battles a vindictive boss at work, and the last copes with a cheating husband while trying to protect her political reputation.

Shoe Addicts Anonymous is cute, sweet, and lovely. This is the book that introduced me to Beth Harbison, who I wrote about in this old post about the Best-Ever Chick Lit Authors. She used to be one of my favorites.
